Denim Aprons

A denim apron is the one people keep on when they step outside for a delivery, and it earns that by being built like workwear. Ours uses 12 oz washed cotton denim that arrives already softened, with antique brass rivets set at the strap joints and pocket corners where every apron eventually tears. The strap system is adjustable and can be built as a cross-back or a single neck strap, and the cut runs from the chest to below the knee for real coverage over the thighs.

Denim gives artwork a warmth that flat twill cannot, and it takes decoration three ways. A screen print on the chest fades slightly with the fabric and looks better for it; embroidery in a heavier thread reads clearly against the weave; a leather-look patch riveted at the chest is the classic choice for barbers, brewers and butchers. A split hip pocket keeps a notebook on one side and tools on the other, and a stitched loop takes a towel, shears or a bottle opener. Wash cold and tumble dry low; the indigo will soften and lighten at the fold lines the way denim is supposed to, and the rivets do not rust. Indigo, black wash, stone and grey cover most rooms, and contrast stitching is available when you want the seams to show.
